What Did I Do/Buy This Weekend? (December 9-10, 2017)

Hello, everybody! Sorry about the late update! Wasn’t feeling in the mood to write on Sunday, so today’s weekend update is a bit late! But come see what I did and bought this weekend! πŸ™‚

On Saturday, I made cookies! They were LOCSILD’s (LOC Sister-in-law D’s) sugar cookie recipe and they came out perfect! I baked the cookies on Saturday and decorated them on Sunday! Everything came out beautiful and yummy tasting! πŸ™‚

Before Frosting:

cookies 1

I was taste testing the cookies, so that is why one cookie is half eaten. πŸ˜›

After frosting:

cookies 2

I… didn’t get any pastry bags because I thought I would save some green and make my own out of a plastic baggy instead. Turn out I should have gotten them, haha. Oh well, neat looking or not, these cookies were still soft and delicious! πŸ˜€ This was a half a recipe, btw. πŸ˜‰

I also stopped at the SpendypantsΒ Thrift Store, or The Cancer Society, and bought a cute wired star ornament and a bea-ti-ful cashmere scarf for only $7.00! However, when I got home, I discovered the scarf had a hole in it, so I stitched it up using thread and it looks good! The hole however, was on the side of the scarf that showed by your face when you had it on, so you can see my threadwork on it kind of. Oh well. I like the scarf and if I start to hate it, I can always donate it back. πŸ™‚

Here is my new scarf!

scarf

Pretty, huh? πŸ™‚

I also went to Dollar Tree and picked up some Operation Christmas Child supplies for next year! Never to early to start packing those boxes!

After this, I went home and relaxed all evening. πŸ™‚

Money Spent on Saturday

  • Star Ornament – $3.00
  • Cashmere Scarf – $7.00
  • OCC Supplies – $6.44

Total Amount Spent: $16.44

On Sunday, like I said, I frosted the cookies and then picked up a few things at the Frugalpants Grocery Store, or Winco! Maaaaaan, was it ever busy in there this time of year! Managed to get mostly everything though!

After the Frugalpants Grocery Store, LOCMom was craving Chinese food, so she bought some Chinese food for us and we ate it at home! I know I am on a diet, but I do not regret this Chinese food! πŸ˜€

How could you say no to such goodness? :C

chinese food

Btw, it was delicious. πŸ˜‰

After this meal, I put the rest of my groceries away and just relaxed for the night. πŸ™‚

Money Spent on Sunday

  • Broccoli – $0.72
  • Sweet Bell Pepper – $0.98
  • Romain Lettuce Package – $2.48
  • Grape Tomatoes – $1.98
  • Mushrooms – $0.77
  • Bananas – $0.68
  • Blueberries – $3.98
  • Avocados – $2.34
  • Glade Air Freshener – $0.97
  • Sweet Potato – $1.38
  • Eggs (18-carton) – $3.86
  • Kidney Bean Cans – $2.64 (for 2 cans)

Total Amount Spent:Β $26.13

Now, I must confess that I like to get out of the Frugalpants Grocery Store spending under 30 bucks each time and if any item is over $3.00, I silently cringe inside. > _>

I’m not sure if I can eat all of this food because I’m currently dealing with issues with my health which make me feel very meh about doing things like cooking or sticking to my diet, but darn it, I’m tired of wasting food! Especially the mushrooms I buy! I swear, those little suckers are going to nickel and dime me to death if I keep on not cooking them every time I buy them…

How was your weekend?Β

What did I do this Weekend? (December 1-2, and the 4th, 2017)

I am so sorry everybody! I was really cold yesterday and felt out of it, so I couldn’t post the Weekend Update! To be fair, it’s still cold and I lost my gloves, but I don’t feel too out of it today. Come see what I did this weekend, or last weekend, haha. πŸ™‚ No Spending Summary for this weekend because I think I accidentally threw out my receipts. Oops. :C

Well, for the later half of last week, LOCMom and I went to LOCAunt’s and LOCUncle’s house to visit! I went thrifting at the Fancypants Goodwill and found an OFFICIAL Disney Β horseΒ from the movie Brave (I think…), a Star Wars sheet set still new in its box, a Tigger mouse pad still new in its case, cat toys in an unopened cat toy Xmas stocking for Coco the cat, and a two pieces of clothing! Yup, goooooood stuff. πŸ™‚ Love the Fancypants Goodwill!

Since LOCMom and I will be moving to LOCAunt’s and LOCUncle’s area next year, we looked at a mobile home with LOCMom’s realtor as well! After seeing it and reading about how to find a good mobile courtesy of the internet, we are now armed with knowledge on how to find a good mobile home to buy! After December, we will start looking seriously for a place to live. πŸ™‚ As for me, I am excited! πŸ˜€

On Sunday, we traveled back home and just relaxed the entire evening. I went to the store and bought some veggies and a delicious rotisserie chicken! Yup, that is what I get when shopping while hungry. I buy delicious pre-cooked foods. However, in my defense, it was delicious though! πŸ™‚

And I guess since I don’t want this to be too short, I will expand on what happened today on Monday. LOCMom and I went into town and I went to theΒ Frugalpants Grocery Store to pick a few things up like food and pantry supplies for the bathroom. What I hate buying most is mouthwash. God, 5 bucks a pop for this stuff… And it’s the kid’s kind since I hate the adult minty stuff! Just ticks me off each time… But I decided to buy anther toothbrush instead of my regular $4.00 one that I really like. This one was under $2.00 and is a soft brush, so I hope it won’t be awkward to use when brushing my teeth. Then I bought foamy soap in bulk to refill my Dial brand foamy soap dispenser with which was around 4 bucks for 2 pounds of the stuff. I figure I will save more money than buying a different foamy soap despencer for $5-$6 a pop at TJMAXX. It’s like every time I buy one there, I’m just paying for the picture on the outside of the soap bottle! > .< So hopefully this bulk stuff will be worth the money. πŸ™‚ After using the fancy foamy soap, I can never go back to the regular stuff, haha. πŸ™‚

I also picked up my Fancypants Xmas cards from Costco that I will be sending out this year to everyone. First time sending photo cards and I am excited! These cards were $14.99 for 50 cards including envelopes and 4 copies of little 2018 calendars you make yourself on Costco’s website, so I thought, “What a deal!” πŸ˜€ Not sure what I will do with the little calendars that came with them, so I guess I will just trash them later on or give them away to somebody… Who knows, haha. πŸ™‚

And I guess that is it. Sorry for the lack of pictures. I’m cold, or at least my hands are, so I don’t feel posting any today. Don’t feel like moving around too much either. : ( Next Weekend Update, there will be pictures though, so please look forward to that!

How was your weekend?

What did I do/buy this Thanksgiving and this weekend? (November 23, 25-26)

Hello, everybody! This week’s weekend update is special because it will also include how I spent Thanksgiving!

So, we’ll start with Thanksgiving. Unfortunately, we didn’t go to LOCAunt’s and LOCUncle’s for Thanksgiving due to LOCMom and I coming down with colds, so we went out to eat since it was just the two of us! Check out the Thanksgiving food at our local restaurant, Lumberjacks!

Thanksgiving

Mmmmm, good stuff it was! I even had leftovers for the next day! LOCMom treated me to this delicious meal, so two thumbs up for her! πŸ™‚

And a little later, we hit the Black Friday sales at the mall! I managed to buy four tops that I usually wear for 5 bucks each and with a $10 off $10 coupon from JC Penney, seeing that two shirts were $10.00 in total, with that coupon, it was like getting two shirts free! In reality, the coupon made the shirts $2.50 each, but still, great deal! πŸ˜€

And *ahem*, I shrank a size! WOO HOO! My basic shirts I bought last year are OFFICIALLY too baggy on me! And everyone, I’m just going to keep getting smaller! πŸ™‚ Here are some before and after photos! The after is me in my new shirt!

Before:

shirt 1

After:

shirt 2

I’m still stoked about the whole being down a size thing! πŸ˜€ This diet is working, haha. Or should I say lifestyle change? πŸ™‚

On Saturday, I went to the Spendypants Grocery Store to restock my diet food since I was getting low on food. I had to since I was tired of eating food that was not good for me all week. : ( But after Thanksgiving, I’m back on my diet and plan to keep going with it! My goal is to be 155 pounds by Christmas! I’ve got this! πŸ˜€

Money Spent on Saturday:

  • Perfect Pinch Chicken Seasoning – $3.69
  • Milk – $3.99
  • Bananas (3) – $0.96
  • Fuji Apples (2) – $1.15
  • White Mushrooms (3) – $1.01
  • Romain Lettuce (bulk size) – $3.99

Total Amount Spent:Β $14.79

Bah. I dislike going to the Spendypants Grocery Store to buy food since everything is expensive in there, but sometimes, I just don’t have a choice. : (

On Sunday, I stayed home and helped LOCMom put up the Christmas tree! After putting up the tree by myself last year, I just can’t sand putting up fake trees anymore. Especially big fake trees. If I ever get my own place in the future, I will probably just have a 4 foot fake tree and do limited decorating each year. Ah, my minimalist dream. πŸ™‚

And I just had dinner, so here is a picture of what I ate!

dinner

That salad, or hash, was about 446 calories. Yes, on my diet, I count my calories. πŸ™‚ It helps me lose weight by doing this since I was not eating as much calories as before, I found. Β O _O So if I keep this up, I’m sure to keep losing weight in the future and will someday reach my goal weight of 125 pounds! I’m currently in the upper 150 range weight wise and if I keep it up, my 155 weight goal will be reached by Christmas! Can’t wait! πŸ˜€

Money Spent On Sunday

Total Amount Spent: $0.00

So that wraps up another weekend! Today it has been rainy and cold, but tomorrow, things should clear up enough so I can walk again outside! I’m coming for you goal weight! > _<;;;

How was your weekend?

What did I do/buy this weekend? (November 18-19, 2017)

Hello everybody! Sorry about being a day late with the weekend update! I was really cold yesterday and I have a handle on it now typing in gloves! Frankly, it slows down my typing quite a bit, but the gloves keep my hands warm! πŸ™‚

On Saturday, it was cheat meal day for me, so with LOCMom’s help, I made green bean casserole from scratch! No soup cans here!

cassarole

This is when it came out of the oven! Check it out plated!

cassarole 1

That, my friends, has bacon in it! BACON! I put more bacon than the recipe called for because bacon is good and it turned out delicious! Way better than the canned version for sure! πŸ˜€ I am not ashamed to say I ate most of it on Saturday since I wanted it out of the house by Sunday. πŸ™‚ Dieting and all. πŸ˜‰

Also on Sunday, I went to Dollar Tree and found the FUNNIEST playing cards ever! Check em’ out!

cards

Aren’t they the most hilarious and naughty deck of playing cards you have ever seen? πŸ˜› I spotted them at the checkout counter and for a buck, I had to have them for the lulz! By the way, The Pleasure Pit is an actual casino in Las Vegas, Nevada which makes it all the more funnier! LOCBrotherH looked it up and let’s just say that some of the ladies in that casino were dressed like hookers, haha. I think I am going to rehome these cards though because I don’t need anymore playing cards anyway. πŸ™‚

Money Spent on Saturday

Deck of Cards – $1.00

Total Amount Spent: $1.00

On Sunday, LOCMom went shopping by Goodwill which made it an excuse to go in there and I found two things!

First thing I came across while looking at the knives was a watermelon knife!

knife

Now, since I bought the knife at Goodwill, I’m not sure if it was a dud knife or not, bit for $3.19, I might as well try it out and see if it will work! Now all I need is a melon. πŸ™‚

And the next thing I bought was a new shirt!

bass shirt

The brand was ‘G.H. Bass & Co.’ and from looking up the shirt online, it looks like this particular clothing company does not sell their women’s clothing at Macy’s anymore, only men’s clothing. But I do remember that this brand was pretty pricey and for $4.99, this shirt was a steal! However, the men’s shirts in this brand are going for $20 and up at Macy’s, so not a bad deal if I do say so myself!

That is another secret of thrifting! If you are thrifting clothes you want to wear, know thy brands! πŸ™‚ You don’t want to end up paying for a Wal-Mart shirt that was used like I did, do you? :C Won’t make that mistake again even though I did love my gently used Wal-Mart shirt at the time of purchase and still do. πŸ™‚

Money Spent on Sunday

Watermelon Knife – $3.19

Shirt – $4.99

Total Amount Spent: $8.18

So not a bad weekend! I really did enjoy my green bean casserole though! Soooooo tasty!

And bad news about the birds at the Frugalpants Grocery Store everyone. 😦 When I was feeding the birds, a security guard came up to me and told me the store didn’t want anyone feeding the birds anymore because they found a dead pigeon in their trash can and they blamed the predators for being attracted to the pigeons that hang out at the store. 😦 So in other words, the crows were coming in and eating the pigeons. 😦 However, the security guard said that if it was his store, he would let me keep feeding the birds though, which I thought was cool. πŸ™‚ He was friendly to me about the whole thing though, so I wasn’t too freaked out. πŸ™‚ But man, was I ever bummed! I guess that is money saved? Oh well. 😦

And it’s Thanksgiving this week, so I’m not sure if I will have time to put a weekly blog post up because of the holidays. I will definitely be putting a weekend update combining it with a Thanksgiving update though! πŸ™‚

If I don’t post anything by then, I hope all of you have a wonderful Thanksgiving holiday and if you do shop on Black Friday, shop smart and don’t overspend! πŸ™‚

How was your weekend?

What did I do/buy this weekend? (November 12, 2017)

Wow! What a fun weekend! I got to do my most favorite thing in the world: Thrift store shopping! On both Saturday and Sunday! I also went to Dollar Tree and bought a few things as well. πŸ™‚ So I will tell you guys all about my weekend below!

On Saturday, LOCMom was feeling thrifty, so we decided to hit up some thrift stores! We first went to the Spendypants Thrift Store, or The Cancer Society Discovery Shop, which was having a not so spendy 50% off almost everything sale on Saturday! I couldn’t believe it, so LOCMom and I had to stop there and look around!

Now, I usually don’t buy much from the Spendypants Thrift Store because mostly everything is expensive, but I managed to find a new pair of house slippers that didn’t smell too bad! They were “hiding” in the children’s section. πŸ˜› I tried them on in-store and they fit great! I was so happy to come across their hiding spot. πŸ˜€ I also picked out a white star for our Christmas tree this year which will replace our Dollar Tree star from last year. However, it chips easily, so we’ll have to be careful with it when we pack it away for next year.

Here are my slippers and Christmas star!

cs haul

And THEN! I couldn’t believe it, but I can across a Michael Kors top in the clothing area in my size! That’s a designer item everybody! So of course, I had to try it on. And you know what happened next? IT FIT! πŸ˜€ And it was 50% off almost everything day, so the Michael Kors top which was 7 bucks was now $3.75! $3.75! These designer shirts usually go for around $80-$90 a pop, so I was absolutely THRILLED to get the shirt for such a deal! I think the shirt was missing some sequins on it, but it was hardly noticeable!

Here is my beau-ti-ful Michael Kors shirt I bought!

mk

And before the Spendypants Thrift Store opened, I went to Dollar Tree next door and bought some Thanksgiving cards for friends and family! I also bought some Operation Christmas Child supplies for LOCMom’s shoebox and my own. Every month, I buy 5 items for my boxes and the items certainly add up after an entire year!

Then after the Spendypants Thrift Store, we went to the Salvation Army thrift store across town, but alas, I didn’t find anything there. : ( Apparently, not a lot of rich people donate their stuff to that thrift store, so there was not a lot of good stuff there to go through. Even the clothes were lacking. Oh well. We probably won’t hit up that thrift store again in the near future.

Then after thrift store shopping, LOCMom and I went home and I had my cheat meal for the week! The cheat meal was macaroni and cheese and meatloaf! Oh man folks, this stuff was sooooooooo good, yet so fattening, haha. πŸ˜›

cheat meal

And yes, that is bacon on top of the meatloaf. πŸ™‚

And then we stayed home all day! It was oneΒ of those relaxing kind of days.

Money Spent on Saturday

  • Thanksgiving Cards – $12.00 ($0.50 a card)
  • Operation Christmas Child (OCC) Supplies – $5.00
  • Christmas Star – $2.00
  • House Slippers – $1.50

Total Amount Spent: $20.50

On Sunday, our first stop was Goodwill! Man, I can’t get enough of that place. I didn’t find any items there, but I did find some cute clothes! One even had a Macy’s tag still on it!

GW haul

The brown sweater was the Macy’s item! Methinks it was there because it had visible snags in the arm hole and the original owners didn’t know how to get it out. But I do! *insert awesome face here* I easily got those snags out at home and BAM! It looks like a brand new sweater! Going to the right of the picture, I also purchased a brown camisole for a black striped dress of mine. It looks great with it! And last but not least is the red turtleneck shirt. Imagine to my horror after looking up the brand of the shirt that I paidΒ 6 bucks for a WAL-MART SHIRT. Yes, you read that right… A Wal-Mart shirt! Note to future thrifting self: If you see a brand name shirt called ‘White Stag’, it’s a Walmart shirt and you shouldn’t pay 6 bucks for it. *sigh* Oh well, art least it was cute. I loved it in the fitting room and I loved it at home as well!

Goodwill Outfit Selfie!

GW selfie

I think my wintery doggy shirt looks pretty good in my new sweater that still had the tag on it! πŸ˜‰ There’s a clearance necklace I bought at Kohl’s a long time ago in that selfie hiding somewhere…

And then LOCMom and I hit up the FrugalpantsΒ Grocery Store, or Winco, for food! I bought 3 pounds of ground turkey since it is very tasty and pretty low in calories! Gonna’ freeze most of it. πŸ™‚ Then I just got my regular food I usually buy.

And then at the end of our shopping trip, I fed the pigeons with the food I got in the store from the bulk bins! Those cutie wooties love that stuff so much. πŸ™‚

I got a better picture of the pigeons and the brewer’s black birds eating the food up though!

pigeons 2

They were pretty hungry today, haha. πŸ™‚

And after the Frugalpants Grocery Store, LOCMom and I went home to relax for the rest of the day! This weekend was so successful! πŸ˜€

Money Spent on Sunday

  • Goodwill Haul – $17.48
  • Bird Seed (from bulk bins) – $2.08
  • Ground Turkey (bulk size) – $5.98
  • While Milk – $3.50
  • Sweet Potato – $1.64
  • Grape Tomatoes – $1.98
  • Strawberries – $2.98
  • Bananas (3) – $0.76
  • Romaine Lettuce – $2.48
  • Crimini Mushrooms – $0.80
  • Avocados (3) – $2.94

Total Amount Spent: $42.62

So yeah, it’s not like I needed those Goodwill clothes, but I really liked them! Plus that sweater was a bargain at $10.00 becuase Macy’s usually asks for $30+ for that brand’s sweaters. The tag said the sweater was markedΒ on clearance for 24 bucks, but that is only a $6.00 difference. So that is what brought the Goodwill price so high. That sweater was worth it though. ❀

And the ground turkey should last me for a while! Can’t wait to bag it and freeze it for future meals! πŸ™‚

How was your weekend?

What did I do/buy this weekend? (November 6, 2017)

Uggh, sorry for the late update, everybody! : (Β LOCMom and I got home late last night and I didn’t feel like typing. However, the Weekend Update starts now! πŸ™‚

On Saturday, I don’t remember what I did, but I think I stayed home all day. No money spent on this day. However, I did have my cheat meal which was Cool Haus Chocolate Lava Cake ice cream! πŸ˜€ One pint of it to be exact. It was sooooooo tasty!

I also went to K.K.’s concert on my Animal Crossing game and got a photo! Look everybody, it’s me and K.K.!

kk

After this concert, K.K. gave me a Rockin’ K.K. track for my home in the game! The track is very good and even when I was a teenager, I enjoyed this particular track a lot. πŸ™‚

Money Spent on Saturday

Total Amount Spent: $0.00

On Sunday, LOCMom and I went to Kohl’s! At Kohl’s, I bought a pair of pants that were originally too small on me, but now, they fit me perfectly! I have been working really hard on my diet and it seems that it has paid off since I can fit into size 17 pants (size 16 in women’s pants) again! Look at me rock these guys!

pants

My hips are still a little too big for my liking, so I’m going to keep going with my diet until I get down to my goal weight of 125 pounds! Right now, I’m in the 160 club and I still think that is too heavy for me. : ( Just gotta’ keep eating right and exercising and the weight should fall off eventually! πŸ™‚

And then at the end of the night, LOCMom and I went to visit LOCAuntV! We talked to her about a lot of stuff and I got to play with her dog, Boogie! Boogie loves it when you throw his toys for him, haha. πŸ™‚

And for dinner, I had one of my diet hashes! I love these, but if I am not careful, they could turn into calorie bombs depending on what I add to them! O _O;;; They’re basically burrito bowls, haha. πŸ™‚

hash

Money Spent on Sunday:

New Pants – $14.05

Total Amount Spent: $14.05

And I have a special treat for everybody! Today, I went to the Frugalpants Grocery Store, or Winco, and I fed the pigeons there! Remember I told you guys that I would take a picture of them for you? Well, here they are! πŸ˜€

birds

Aren’t they a bunch of cuties? I think I have them trained where to get food at because I always feed them in this particular spot in the Frugalpants Grocery Store parking lot. πŸ™‚ There’s about 30-40 of them on a good day, so this is not all of them, haha. πŸ˜›

So that is what I did this weekend! Nothing too exciting, but this women is happy to fit into regular sized pants again! πŸ™‚

How was your weekend?

What did I do/buy this weekend? Plus a Halloween Update! (November 1, 2017)

Ahhh! This weekend was a busy weekend and also a busy few days this week, so I did not have time to update! So sorry to everybody waiting for my Weekend Update. : ( But I will fix that right now by telling you all about it!

This Saturday, I don’t remember what I did exactly… I think I was at home all day, haha. But late in the night, I was at a concert! Yes, a concert. πŸ™‚ On my Animal Crossing game, I was a DJ K.K.’s concert! He’s a good looking white dog who plays songs made up by himself on his guitar and his howl is to die for. πŸ˜‰ He even gave me a track to one of his songs so I could listen to it in my house on the game. He only gives one song track out every Saturday night, but I do enjoy them a lot! Then wouldn’t you know it? He was taking requests! Thanks to the internet, I had his master song list and I listened to him all night long! He even dedicated all of the songs I requested to me which was very sweet of him. πŸ™‚ Some of these songs I haven’t heard since high school, so it brought back a lot of memories for me. It was a good night indeed! πŸ™‚

Money Spent on Saturday

Total Amount Spent: $0.00

Then on Sunday, this is where I got busy. LOCMom and I went out of town today to go to my cousin’s first birthday party! LOCCousinJ turned 1 and we got to celebrate with him! Here is LOCCousinJ’s cake which he got to dive into after all of the candles were blown out. πŸ™‚

cake

There were also plenty of horderves which I took to eating a lot of! Mostly the mummy dogs! And NO, I did not clear that whole plate, haha. πŸ˜›

mummies

And I also got visit LOCCousinM’s and LOCCousinR’s dog, Luna! Luna is an Alaskan MalamuteΒ who is very big, but very sweet! She is so cute!

luna

But before making it to the party, LOCMom and I stopped atΒ Granzela’s for some lunch! I had some soup and a chocolate peppermint! πŸ™‚

Money Spent on Sunday

  • Soup – $3.50
  • Chocolate Peppermint – $0.10

Total Amount Spent: $3.60

So that is about it for this weekend!

On Monday, LOCMom and I went home and we stopped at Granzela’sΒ for some lunch again! I had some soup, a chocolate peppermint and my usual chocolate cream pie cup! Good as always!

granzelas

After our lunch, we eventually made it home! But I had to go out again because I have signed up for a Publishing class at the local community college! So I went and learned all about the book publishing industry. And do you now what is so lulzy about the whole book publishing industry? It’s just a big business that wants your money! They only look for books that will “sell” and screw the rest! This includes greeting cards, poems, filler articles and blurbs in magazines. I mean, they pay people to write that stuff. Seeing how my book I am working on currently has next to zero real paragraphs in it, I highly doubt it can get published the traditional way, so I may have to go the self publishing route or local publishing route where the publishing companies are smaller and not as big. After taking the publishing class and learning about the industry, I really should have taken the next class that was the Self Publishing class. But oh well. *shrug*

Then on Tuesday, it was… Halloween! We had a few kids who looked young enough to go Trick-or-Treating, but then at the last moment of the night, the teenagers showed up, haha. πŸ˜› They were all in costume though and we didn’t have many kids anyways, so I was thrilled that they showed up. They got candy for being dressed up and so polite! LOCMom and I had fun giving out candy last night! We even decorated and everything! πŸ™‚ Β This morning, I took all of the decorations down and put them away for next year in a small storage bucket in my room. Really love my storage bucket!

So all in all, a very fun and busy week so far! Today is a day where I can take a break and relax, haha. I’ll try to make the most of it. πŸ™‚

How was your weekend and Halloween?
