What did I do/buy this weekend? (March 17-18, 2018)

Heya’ everybody! Sorry for the late update! Lots of stuff happened that left me too exhausted to write, but let me get everyone caught up! Come and see what I did this weekend! πŸ™‚

On Saturday, LOCMom and I decided to hit up a church garage sale! It was what I feared though… the church in town that puts up white crosses for every aborted fetus on their lawn for each lady who has had an abortion. Uggggh.Β > _> So if I was going to buy something from their garage sale, it had better be a good something or something I needed! But when we went to it, we didn’t find a thing. Lots of kids stuff there. And the clothes were piled on top of each other, so it was hard to look through those. We left with nothing. 😦

Then I was back at the house and was reading my new book, ‘Salt Sugar Fat’. This particular book is a health book about the food industry and how they use the ingredients fat, sugar, and salt to make their food products addicting and to keep people coming back for more every time. It’s pretty scary… Like, I learned that kids like sweeter things than adults, so food companies put more sugar in food products marketed to kids to keep them eating it and eating it. Pretty sneaky! 😑 And soda companies like Coke call people who drink a lot of their products ‘heavy users’ instead of referring them as just soda drinkers. Scary… So yeah, this book has never ending information about food and drink companies that use salt, fat, and sugar to get people addicted to their edible products. Since I never buy soda or your typical junk food besides chocolate chips or homemade sweets, the book has been eye opening. Highly recommend giving it a read if you are concerned about the food environment around you! πŸ™‚

Also on Saturday, LOCMom wanted to make enchiladas using a very tasty recipe which can be found here! Guys, this enchilada recipe along with the enchilada sauce this food blogger uses is THE BEST EVER! So yummy and tasty. ❀ Highly recommend you make soemtime! πŸ™‚ Anyway, so we made this recipe and invited LOCAuntV over for an enchilada. She then came over and ate one and thought they were as good as always! πŸ˜€ I make great enchiladas thanks to this recipe. ❀ Definitely a keeper!

After LOCAuntV left after we were done visiting, I read my Salt Sugar Fat book and then went to bed! Didn’t really shop a lot this weekend in general, so no spending today! πŸ™‚

Money Spent on Saturday

Total Amount Spent: $0.00

On Sunday, things were also quiet, but I did have some of LOCMom’s chili! Mmmmm… So good! ❀ I then went and read my Salt Sugar Fat book again to see if I could get close to finishing it. Turns out that this book has never ending information about the food and drink industry in it, so it will take a while for me to read all of it. πŸ™‚ Then during the night, I did my April budget for next month, but as the month carries on, some things are bound to get changed in it. Just how it goes…

Money Spent on Sunday

Total Amount Spent: $0.00

So, yup! No money spent this weekend! I think I may have spent a little on Saturday, but I threw out my receipts already after logging them. My bad, ya’ll. 😦 Will have reciepts saved for the next Weekend Update though! πŸ™‚

But… to finish things off, I recently bought this cool lamp from Goodwill, but I have one issue with it…

Am I the only one that sees the eyes in the pattern? Yeah, too retro and alien-ish for me, so I got another idea from a PF/frugal blogger that I follow and that idea was to paint it! I think LOCMom volunteered to spray paint it for me while I just wanted to use a regularΒ paint brush since I am not good with spray painting things, so we will see what happens. πŸ™‚ It’s going to be a white lamp shade, ya’ll! πŸ˜€

How was your weekend?

What did I do/buy this weekend?/Plus, what I am up to! (March 10-11, 2018)

Heya’ everybody! I’m not going to lie, this weekend was pretty uneventful, but I will still share my weekend with your guys! Come and see what I did! πŸ™‚

On Saturday, I stayed home all day. I don’t remember feeling very good either, so yeah. That’s what happens when you are cooped up in a house all day. You feel awful. 😦

Money Spent on Saturday

Total Amount Spent: $0.00

On Sunday, things were a little more exciting! Today was return day! Meaning, I had clothes I had to return to some stores and I went and got my money back! I also went to See’s Candy and got my free sample! After going to the stores and heading home, IΒ decided to whip out my pencil and work on some fanart! I have drawn a few pieces that I meant to ink, but one I don’t think I will get around to finishing because I am just not in love with it. 😦 But I definitely want to ink my new piece of fanart that I drew! πŸ™‚

I also am trying to get a routine going on my diet again… I got off track for a while and have just been maintaining because of the weather, but since the weather has gotten a little nicer, I was able to spend time walking again. πŸ™‚ I measured myself recently and I am back to being 41 inches across my waist because of exercising again. Woot woot! I measure myself, so I know this. πŸ˜› If I don’t see results on the scale, my measuring tape may tell me otherwise. πŸ˜‰ But it looks like it’ll be rainy this week, so I may have to put things on hold again. Booooooo. 😦

And I don’t even think I spent any money on Sunday. Like I said, pretty boring on the weekend front. 😦

So since this blog post is kind of short, I will just let everyone know what I have been doing lately! Like I said, I am sort of trying to ease back into my diet, so that is good. The weather is good-ish, so I was able to walk these past two days. But MAN, I have got some exciting news! Every once in a while, I like to take progress pictures of myself to see how well I am doing! Well today, I will be showing you a recent progress pic from the past and my most RECENT pic from like two days ago! Check em’ out!

The Before:

And After:

After looking at both pictures close up instead of on my tiny phone, I see a slight difference in some areas of my body, but especially in my hips! πŸ˜€ I’m really excited about that because I have always wanted to have smaller hips after having bigger hips for so long. T _T And plus my shirt had to be pulled down because it looked baggy otherwise… I just want to say to everybody that IΒ am a size 14 now hoping to be a size 12 someday! πŸ˜€ If I keep working at it, that goal may be a real reality I hope to achieve someday!Β Wish me well! πŸ˜€

And like I said earlier, I drew a piece of fanart that I plan on inking, so I hope to get to that soon. Maybe not this week since I have to make St. Patrick’s Day cards up, but I hope it will be soon-ish. πŸ™‚

How was your weekend and/or what have you been up to?

What did I do/buy this weekend? (March 3-4, 2018)

Hello, everybody! Sorry for the Weekend Update delay, I had a killer migraine yesterday. 😦 But it’s gone now! Come see what I did this weekend! πŸ˜€

On Saturday, I decided that I wanted to splurge on some yummy chocolates, so I went to See’s Candy and bought some Springtime Truffles! They had dark chocolate raspberry and lemon filling inside of them! Mmmmm… Good stuff! πŸ˜€

Sorry about the random cat hair. LOCKitty Amelia sheds a lot , so fur is always getting everywhere. πŸ˜›

Then I went to Clothing Revival to see if they had a pair of shorts there that I liked! And sheeeeesh, their clothing must have been for 8-12 year olds because all of their clothes were so short and silly… I managed to find a pair of exercise shorts that fitted nicely and I had, keyword ‘had’, a $5.00 off coupon for them, but I left it in the dressing room that somebody else went and used, so IΒ couldn’t go back in and get it. Boy, did that make my blood boil. 😑 I’m sure some of my readers know how that is when you lose something precious to you when every penny counts. Having a good deal and then losing it… Sheesh. 😦

After Clothing Revival, I went to Goodwill and bought a sun hat and a plastic green basket for my hygiene supplies on my bathroom counter. When I saw the green basket at Goodwill, I decided that I was going to be the person that saved it from the dump and make use of it in my home. So I did just that. πŸ™‚ The sun hat was for a Luffy cosplay from the manga series, One Piece. I tried my hardest to make the hat look nice with pieces of red ribbon around the top of it like Luffy’s hat, but the hat is just a little too small for my head, haha. πŸ˜› But it’s fine since it was just for a cheap costume prop. πŸ™‚

After heading home from the store, I also read the rest of March Comes in Like a Lion manga series and I am OFFICIALLY all caught up to the latest manga volume now and I am SO PUMPED! Man, that Japanese comic book series is great! Also, I was able to gather more source material from a character that stars in a piece of fanfiction that I wrote about him, so I was able to improve his character in my fanfiction that I wrote about the manga series. πŸ™‚ It flows so well now. ❀

Money Spent on Saturday

  • Sun Hat – $3.19
  • Plastic Green Basket – $0.69
  • See’s Candy Springtime Truffles – $7.75
  • Exercise Shorts – $7.67

Total Amount Spent:Β $19.30

On Sunday, I went to my favorite seamstress’ house to get my size 14 pants hemmed! These size 14 pants are designer jeans I bought at Goodwill for 7 bucks each and they look so good on me! πŸ™‚ But the pant legs on all of them are way too long, so I budgeted money for them this month so they could be hemmed! Now I waiting until they are fixed up so I can finally wear them and put away my size 16 pants for good because I’m planning on never being that size again! πŸ˜€

I also went to the Frugalpants Grocery Store for some cheap groceries, but had to buy some household supplies which ran my total up over 30 bucks. T _T I try to keep my grocery bill under $30.00 usually, so whenever I go over 30 bucks, it huuuuurts. 😦 I also bought some chocolate there as well, but seeing that the chocolate I bought will probably not taste good after buying the same brand at the dollar store, I will be taking it back. Can’t waste precious calories on bad chocolate. > _>

I also went to the Spendypants Thrift Store and bought myself a PINK bag that was from Victoria’s Secret! Before buying it though, I looked it over since it was covered in sequins to see if anything was damaged on the bag and everything looked mostly fine! So I purchased it! πŸ™‚ It is such a cute bag and I will probably use it when I go on trips and stuff like that. I would never buy a PINK branded bag from Victoria’s Secret for full price, but I will pay a discount for it, haha. πŸ˜›

After the Spendypants Thrift Store, I stopped at Dollar Tree for St. Patrick’s Day cards and a few other things and then I went home and relaxed. πŸ™‚
