My AWESOME Avocado Toast Recipe!

Hey everybody! Today on this very special blog post has to deal with most millennial food ever: avocado toast! Yes, we millennials love our avocado toast. Of course, it tastes more delicious and costs less if you make it yourself! And boy, does it never fail to taste good when I make it!

But I find that if avocado is just served by itself on toast without any seasoning on it, it tastes awful. I mean, flavorless awful. So what is the secret to great tasting avocado on toast! Why, turning into guacamole of course! ๐Ÿ˜€ I mean, everyone loves gaucamole. ๐Ÿ™‚ It’s good on chips, tacos, and also on toast! Today, I will be sharing my avocado toast recipe that is not only good, but is healthy for you!

Let’s get started!

First, you will need a piece of sliced bread. It can be any kind of sliced bread as long as it fits into your toaster. For making this recipe healthy, I HIGHLY recommend using organic whole wheat bread!ย Why organic, you ask? Well, because organic bread I find doesn’t have those extra crappy ingredients that “regular bread” has that may make it not so great to eat every day. Organic bread is just pretty basic even though most organic breads have added sugars in them. Probably to extend their shelf life. Regular bread probably has added sugar too, but with other extra ingredients that make up the bread that are not even necessary. : / With healthy foods, I always buy regular produce, nuts, whole milk, eggs, and such, but never skimp on the bread! Always organic bread in this millennial’s life! ๐Ÿ™‚

Anyway… so you got your slice of bread now. This is the first step to this avocado toast recipe that will make it a success! ๐Ÿ™‚

Next is the avocado! Now before you start cutting into this avocado, there is a certain way that I cut it that is a much safer way to “dissect” an avocado. I learned of this way from a commenter on the website, Jezebel, after receiving “avocado hand” from a knife when cutting up an avocado. What is funny about the whole avocado hand thing is that before the day thatย that “avocado hand” thing came out in the news was the day I got avocado hand. Talk about weirdly timely, haha. ๐Ÿ˜›

Anyway, let me explain!

First thing you always do before getting an avocado is getting a cutting board to cut the avocado with. No holding it in your hand and cutting the avocado up! That is the best way to get “avocado hand”! ALWAYS use a cutting board when cutting avocados and other fruits and veggies! Having a sharp knife helps as well because dull knifes will cut you deeply if they are used incorrectly. So folks, always keep your knives sharp! Also, ALWAYS be sure your avocado is “ripe” before attempting to cut into it. Ripe avocados with be kind of squishy around the center of them or really squishy around the center of them if they are really ripe, but I do not recommend a really ripe avocado for this recipe since when making guacamole, texture is always important. If you use a really ripe avocado when making guacย for this recipe, the gaucamole will be quite creamy which I don’t really like, to be honest. But if you like creamy guacamole, then go for it and use a really ripe avocado! ๐Ÿ™‚

Next remove the sticker on the avocado. I know everyone always thinks, “Well with my little ol’ sharp knife, I can cut right through this sticker!” until they can’t. I find that the sticker on the avocado is always hard to cut through and not worth the extra time to try cutting through. Heck, it may lead to avocado handville, so always remove it before cutting your avocado!

Now, we’re ready to cut the avocado! ๐Ÿ™‚ First, cut the avocado in half around the center. You should have two halvesย now. Then, take the avocado slice with the seed in it and cut around the center of it again on the outside of it making sure your fingers are not in the way. And wala! You should now have two halves, or quaters, of that half of avocado now! At this time, it is now safe to pull out the seed. Notice you didn’t have to use your knife for this task? A miracle, I say! ๐Ÿ™‚ Then with your knife, cut the other half of avocado in half and you should now have four halfs, or quaters, of your avocado now. Next, take the tip of the skin from each avocado and pull it off! It should be really easy to do this next step because the skin should peel right off. Sometimes when beginning to do this last step, the skin is kind of stubborn, but it should come off. And TADAH! Perfectly peeled avacado waiting to be become gauc! ๐Ÿ˜€

Now we need our spices! Here s what I use at home:

All necessary toย make perfect guacamole! But the real secret to this recipe is this stuff:

McCormick Perfect Pinch Mexican Seasoning! This is how I achieve the Mexican flavor in my guacamole! This stuff makes this recipe taste good! ๐Ÿ™‚

And now that we have our ingredients, we shall begin!

First, we’ll put the toast in the toaster so it can start toasting while we make our guac!

To make the guac, put your avocado quarters into a small bowl!

Then we add our spices! In no particular order, we will add the cumin, Perfect Pinch Mexican Seasoning, garlic salt, salt, and pepper to our avocado! But the trick to this step is to not pour in these ingredients into our bowl of avocado, but to lightly “dust” them on one side of the avocado in the bowl to the other side like so:

Do this pattern of dusting about 2-4 times depending on the size of the avocado. I will have instructions below this post you can print out that will explain how many times you should dust each ingredient over the avocado. ๐Ÿ™‚

In the end, the ingredients should look something like this:

Now, we are ready to mash it with a fork! Get a stainless steel fork that is a dinner fork and start mashing your avocado! Avocado mashing tip 431: When mashing an avocado intoย guacamole, target the outside of the avocado halvesย since that is where they mash the easiest. ๐Ÿ™‚ When you are done, the avocado should be made into gaucamole!

Something like this:

At this time when you have made your avocado into guacamole,ย with a small hand silicone whisk or spoon, mix up your guacamole so all of the seasoning will be mixed into your guac. After this, be sure to taste test your gaucamole to see if it needs a little something. ๐Ÿ™‚ If it doesn’t, your guac is a success!

Now, your toast should have popped up by now, so now is the time to plate it! But what I fond that gives the toast more flavor is to add butter on your toast at first, then load it up with guacamole. Gives it that extra zing! ๐Ÿ™‚ After adding the butter, with the small hand silicone whisk, put your guacamole on your toast. If you have extra gaucamole, that is fine. You can either eat it after your avocado toast or chuck it out. Your choice. ๐Ÿ™‚

Now sometimes, when I want an extra blast of protein on my avocado toast to make it even more healthy, I add a scrambled egg on top of the avocado with salt and pepper! Really good I must say! You can also add bacon or tomatoes as well to give it an extra zip too! Or you can add all three to make it a superfood meal! โค I have never done this, but it must be good, haha. ๐Ÿ™‚

After adding the avocado to it, your toast should look like this:

Man! That is one sexy lookin’ piece of avocado toast if you ask me! ๐Ÿ˜€

After this, sit back and enjoy all of your hard work! ๐Ÿ˜€

And that is how you make really good avocado toast – my way. ๐Ÿ˜‰ Every morning, I usually eat avocado toast since I never get sick of eating the same foods each day. ๐Ÿ™‚ I count myself as lucky, haha. ๐Ÿ˜›

Enjoy everybody! โค

Ms. Living on Cent’s Avocado Toast

  • Organic Whole Wheat Bread Slice or Regular Bread Slice
  • Salt
  • Pepper
  • McCormick Perfect Pinch Mexican Seasoning
  • Cumin
  • Garlic Salt
  • Butter
  • 1 Ripe Avocado

1. Cut a ripe avocado in half down the center using a cutting board. Then, cut the avocado half with the seed in it down the center of the outside of it making it into two quarters. Pull out seed with hand. Cut other half of avocado with a knife into quarters as well. On each quarter, peel off skin and then discard. Put avocado quaters in a small bowl and set aside.

2. Get organic whole wheat bread slice or any kind if bread slice and put it in toaster to toast.

3. While bread is toasting, with your small bowl of avocado quarters, put in cumin, garlic salt, pepper, salt, and McCormick Perfect Pinch Mexican Seasoning “dusting” each ingredient over one side of the bowl to the other.

The amount of “dusting” of each ingredient depends on the size of the avocado you are using. Here are my recommendations:

  • Cumin (3-4 times of dusting depending on the size of the avocado)
  • Salt (depending on how much salt comes out of the salt shaker or mill you are using, 2-3 dustings. Trust your best judgement.)
  • Pepper (depending on how much pepper comes out of the pepper shaker or mill you are using, 2-3 dustings)
  • Garlic Salt (1-2 dustings)
  • McCormick Perfect Pinch Mexican Seasoning (2-3 dustings recommended, but 4 dustings if you have a bigger avocado.Trust your best judgement.)

4. Using dinner fork, mash avocado quarters into guacamole. To mash avocado quaters easier, mash the outside of the avocado quaters. Then with a small silicone hand whisk, stir in seasoning that did not get mixed in with the avocado quaters. Taste test gaucamole to see if it is to your liking. If not, add needed seasoning to it until it tastes to your desire.

5. When bread slice is done toasting, carefully remove it from your toaster and plate it. Then, put butter on it and then with small silicone hand whisk, spread guacamole onto toast. If you would like, you can then add cooked eggs, bacon, or tomato on it afterword for an extra healthy kick!

6. Eat and enjoy!

What did I do/buy this holiday weekend? (January 13-15, 2018)

Hey everybody! My weekend was pretty quiet, but my Monday was pretty sweet! Come see what I did this holiday weekend! ๐Ÿ˜€

Well on Saturday, I just stayed home all day and hung out. LOCMom was busy and I was not, so I just relaxed all day. No money spent.

Money Spent on Saturday

Total Amount Spent: $0.00

On Sunday, it was another quiet day! Except LOCMom and I went to feed the birds! Oh my god, there were sooooooo many pigeons there, haha. ๐Ÿ˜› I threw out the bird seed in a big huge pile and they literally devoured it all… And they were still hungry! Piggies. ๐Ÿ™‚ I also fed the ducks and geese by the water and they seemed happy to have some yummy birdseed. I even got a big graylander goose to eat out of my hand! These geese usually just back away from me when I try to feed them, but this goose was willing to risk eating out of my hand. ๐Ÿ™‚ No pictures, too busy feeding the geese. ๐Ÿ™‚

After that, I went home and relaxed all day.

Money Spent on Sunday

Total Amount Spent: $0.00

And on Monday, Goodwill was having their 50% off sale! Since LOCFriendT was open to thrifting and liked sales, we decided to go thrifting together at Goodwill today! We first tried on clothes and we didn’t find a lot of clothes that fit us, but LOCFriendT found a wonderful pair of Maurices jeans and a sweater dress, both 3 and 4 bucks each! Making her total $7.00 for everything because it was 50% off day! Not a bad haul, I must say! ๐Ÿ™‚ She really liked her clothes, so I was happy for her. As for me, I only found one shirt and it was just $3.00! I tried on some pants too, but it turned out I had grabbed the wrong sizes in the size 14 pant section because somebody was “hiding” their pants they wanted in the size 14 section so they could get them later. Uggh! It’s always a pain to figure out you grabbed the wrong sized pants when you finally get to the dressing room in Goodwill. > _>

But after trying on clothes, since LOCFriendT was new to Goodwill, I decided to show her around the solid goods. We didn’t find anything there, so we went to the check out line afterward and left the store. LOCFriendT was in the mood to do something else, so I decided that we could get a free sample at See’s Candy! But I wanted more than one candy while I was there, so I got a newer flavored truffle and LOCFriendT paidย for it for me! Isn’t shawesome? ๐Ÿ™‚ It was only a buck and I liked it a lot. โค The funny thing was that the cherry flavor in it tasted like cough syrup, but it was still good. ๐Ÿ˜›

After that, LOCFriendT dropped me off at my house and she went home. A very good shopping day with a very wonderful friend if I do say so myself! ๐Ÿ™‚

Here is the shirt I bought!

croft shirt

Isn’t it cute? ๐Ÿ™‚ It was the only shirt that looked good on me that I picked out at Goodwill. Oh well. ๐Ÿ˜›

But after being home for a few hours, LOCMom and I decided to go to Costco! While I was there, I got my bulk foods and I said to LOCFriendT today that I was trying to watch what I ate because of my diet, but I decided to splurge on the Costco food court food and got a chicken wrap!

Yes, that thing was huge AND I ATE IT ALL. Oh man, it was delicious though. I haven’t eaten for the rest of the night after getting home though because it was such a calorie bomb. If I do eat out, it’s going to be Costco food most of the time, no questions asked. ๐Ÿ™‚

Then I went to Frugalpants Grocery Store, or Winco, and returned this charcoal facial scrub that was around 7 bucks. Ya’ll, this stuff literally burned my face and it didn’t even get all of the gunk out of my pores! No product is perfect, I know, but the fires of Hell should not be burning on my face after using a facial scrub. I then went to the produce section and stocked up on some healthy food and then left the store. Forgot to buy new facial scrub while I was in there, so I guess I’ll have to stop at the Spendypantsย Grocery Store, or Holiday, and pick some up. Meh! Dx

After everything, I went home and relaxed for the rest of the night. ๐Ÿ™‚

Money Spent on Monday

  • Goodwill Shirt – $3.00
  • Bananas (2) – $0.58
  • Sweet Potato – $0.97
  • Yellow Pepper – $0.98
  • Raw Almonds (from bulk bins) – $4.43
  • Yam – $0.69
  • Avocados (3) – $2.94
  • Strawberries – $3.48

*Budgeted Items from Envelope System*

  • Chicken Thighs – $13.00
  • Salmon Fillet – $21.00
  • Kirkland Canned Chicken – $9.99

Total Amount Spent on Everything: $61.06

Whew! A lot of spending today, but I was very happy about how the day went! ๐Ÿ™‚

I have also been trying an experiment this month. The experiment I have been doing is only using my debit card to pay for things. And so far it has been working out quite well! Going cashless I find is helping my bank account stay full! And I love it! I can get used to a future where no one has cash and everything is paid for on your smartphone or on a plastic card. ๐Ÿ™‚ I know this situation doesn’t work for yard sales and stuff, but I love it! ๐Ÿ˜€

How was your weekend? ๐Ÿ™‚ย

December 2017 Budget Check-In!

Hey everybody! Time for December’s 2017 Budget review! I think it was kind of pricey since it was during the Christmas season, but I made it work! ๐Ÿ˜€

Here are the numbers for everything!

Monthly Bills: $500.00

This is a fixed amount of what I have to pay each month for all of the bill-ish expenses such as electricity, water, rent, etc.

Activities: $30.00

I only do one nightly activity to get me out of the house and socialize in some way, so this is it! ๐Ÿ™‚ And I must say, it’s usually fun!

Medication: $10.00

I think I met my deductible for my medication for my mental illnesses this month, but had to cough up 10 bucks for hospital medication.

Groceries: $46.30

Yeah, let’s just say I didn’t eat all that well in December because of my health problem. Didn’t feel like cooking any big meals. But now that that is over with, my expenses in this category will probably be going back up in January. ๐Ÿ™‚

Misc. Items: $140.89

This category this month was mixed in with household purchases, thrift store purchases, Christmas purchases, and some health purchases. Goodwill purchases seem to be a bulk category price wise coming in at around 30 bucks, but at least mostly everything was needed. > .> I really need to start organizing the Goodwill category by item instead of just combined purchases to see what I bought each month at Goodwill, so I will see if I can start doing that in January this month. ๐Ÿ™‚ I think it will help me a lot… :C

Entertainment: $25.46

I always try to keep this category under 30 bucks each month. This category be pricey, ya’ll! It’s easy to go overboard with this category if I am not careful…

Eating Out: $1.61

Yup, that Costco hotdog TOTALLY killed my budget this month, everyone. ๐Ÿ˜› Haha, as you can probably tell, I am just kidding. I don’t really like going out to eat because restaurant food is so dang expensive for what you get! : ( Will the food be good? Will it suck? And if it doesย suck, you still have to pay for the bad food anyway. I’m just used to cooking at home is all. Can’t spend too much money in this category anyway. ๐Ÿ™‚

Budgeted Items: $63.18

This category is all of the items I budgeted for at the beginning of the month and is also included in my envelope system. This month was Christmas presents and Costco food. ๐Ÿ™‚ It’s usually just Costco food and 5 bucks for Operation Christmasย Child (OCC) Gifts from Dollar Tree, but Xmas presents were included in December. ๐Ÿ™‚

And I believe that is everything! ๐Ÿ™‚

The grand total is…

*drum roll*ย

Grand Total: $817.44

Woohoo! Not bad for December, but I’m hoping to make a few changes to January’s budget organization wise! ๐Ÿ™‚

How was your December 2017?

What did I do/buy this weekend? (January 6-7, 2017)

Hello everybody! I just got done reading a very painful chapter of the manga,ย ReLIFE, which is ending in March, and my heart is kind of hurting now. :C No spoilers, but the manga is reaching its conclusion. Anyway, come see what I did this weekend!

On Saturday, I remember I didn’t do much, but I did go to Goodwill! I think it is harder for me to find things at Goodwill now since I have just about everything I need, but I always hope to find at least one treasure!

So… I did find one thing! Some felt indented hangers! They pretty much match my Costco felt hangers, but they have indentations in them for camisole bands that go around your shoulders. They work great for one of my dresses as well! ๐Ÿ™‚

I also bought an outdoor tablecloth that was originally $49.99, on clearance from a Kohl’s tagย for $9.99, which I boughtย at Goodwill for $3.19. Not bad you would think except I didn’t read the fine print that said the tablecloth was oblong and not circular. : ( Thus, it will not fit our glass table outside. Boooooooo. That is 3 bucks I will never see again… That what I get for not reading the fienprint and just relying on the picture…

And after Goodwill, I went home and relaxed! I managed to work on my story again as well after my whole health issue and it really is great getting back into it! ๐Ÿ™‚

Money Spent on Saturday

  • Oblong Outdoor Tablecloth – $3.19
  • Felt Hangers – $3.19

Total Amount Spent: $6.38

On Sunday, I was pretty bored around the house and LOCMom wanted to go out, so I went with her! We went to CVS and the 75% off Xmas stuff was tempting, but I just didn’t want to spend the money on it, so we left without anything. Oh well. *shrug* And a little after that, I went to Goodwill again! Second day in a row, haha. ๐Ÿ˜› Will I go a third time? Probably not. ๐Ÿ™‚

But anyway, today I bought a broken pair of OXO cooking tongs at Goodwill. Didn’t realize they were broken when I boughtย them, so they wound up in the trash. What was nice was that they were 50% off, so instead of being 2 bucks, they were only 1 buck! So that is only $1.00 I will never see again instead of $2.00. Got lucky there!

RIP broken OXO cooking tongs…

But then I found a very nice surprise at Goodwill! An unused small plastic cutting board!

cutting board

I thought it was a tad bit pricey for $3.19, but I didn’t check the going rate for small plastic cutting boards on Amazon while I was at Goodwill, so I just assumed it was a good deal. Our Goodwill I think has two people pricing stuff. One person prices stuff low, which is great because Goodwill is a thrift store and not a department store, and one person prices stuff high. Kind of a weird situation… So I looked up the brand on Amazon and saw that these cutting boards are apart of a set that goes for around 10 bucks. So 3, 6, 9… So yeah, I guess I got the board for market price.

But what shocked me when I got home was that the cutting board was a mate to our larger cutting board at home!

When I found out, I was so stoked! ๐Ÿ˜€ Talk about cool! ๐Ÿ™‚

And that is all I pretty much did today. ๐Ÿ™‚

Money Spent on Sunday

  • Small Cutting Board – $3.19
  • OXO Kitchen Tongs – $1.19

Total Amount Spent: $4.29

So yeah, not a very exciting weekend. But I did get to eat LOCCousinC’s leftover beef ribs from their prime rib from Christmas! Those were goooooooood. ๐Ÿ™‚

But besides going to Goodwill and feeding the birds by the river in my town, there’s not a lot of things to do for a 26 year old millennial such as myself. Which is really unfortunate. All there is to do in my town for young people is shopping, eating, and drinking at bars. I guess I could join a club, but all of the clubs are all around outdoor activities with equipment I can’t afford, so there’s goes that idea. I am hoping when LOCMom and I finally move to our new location that there will be more things for me to do in our new town besides shop. Crossing my fingers! ๐Ÿ™‚

I also have wonderful news! It turns out my health problem was nothing more than constipation and I was just constipated this whole! Nothing too serious. ๐Ÿ™‚ So hooray! ๐Ÿ˜€ I’ve been totally relieved since my doctor’s appointment and been feeling great. โค

How was your weekend?

Goals for 2018!

Hey, everybody! Hope everyone had a Happy New Year and great holiday season! Mine was okay, but I’m hoping 2018 will be even better!

I have a few goals that I want to accomplish in 2018 and beyond! I’m hoping to complete at least one of them. ๐Ÿ™‚

Losing Weight

Ahhh, this goal has been on my list forever! Last year, I successfully dropped about 15 pounds! WOOHOO! ๐Ÿ˜€ That’s 45 pounds off my knees! I am ever so closer to reaching my goal of 125 pounds! This year, I’m going to keep going and knock out my weight loss goal! I must be honest, there will be some chocolate here and there during my weight loss journey, but depriving yourself of things that you like is no way to lose weight, I find. So I’m going to enjoy my healthy food and chocolates all in the same day sometimes, haha. ๐Ÿ™‚ But I will prevail eventually! ๐Ÿ˜€

Keep Eating Healthy

And speaking of healthy food, my “diet” is basically my normal way of eating. I use good food to fuel my body and whenever I eat junky food, I feel bad afterward. : ( But even though there will be times when I eat junky food, I will not get away from eating good food! Even if there is candy in the house (which I am guilty of having around), I will still eat healthy, darn it! Basically, I love all of the healthy food I make because I make goooooood healthy food. ๐Ÿ™‚ I am very blessed to say that I do not mind eating the same foods each day even if the food is healthy. Repetitiveness food wise doesn’t bother me at all. ๐Ÿ™‚ Which is a good thing because I like simple healthy foods like the oh-so very millennial avocado toast.

Contrary to popular belief, this millennial does not buy “expensive” avocado toast at restaurants, but I make my own and I must say that mine is pretty darn good. ๐Ÿ˜‰ The key to good avocado toast is turning the avocado in guacamole and putting it on your toasted bread. Don’t forget the butter on the toast either! ๐Ÿ™‚ To make this very millennial food even more healthy, use organic whole wheat bread! Or just use regular whole wheat bread. Whatever floats your boat. ๐Ÿ™‚ And wala! The best avocado toast ever!

So yeah,ย food will be getting locked down by me during 2018!

Drinking More Water

OH MY GOSH… After my health scare during Christmas, I will be all about the water this year! DRINK DRINK DRINK. LOCSister said she would help me by buying me a huge mug that she uses for water. ๐Ÿ™‚ I gotta’ admit, it gets tiring going up and down the stairs in my house just to fill up my water cup again and again. But if I have a REALLY BIG CUP full of water, then no problems there! Looking forward to it!

Finishing My Book

When I was focused on my health problem back in December, I didn’t really feel like writing, so I quit for a while. But now that my health problem is over with, it’s time for me to start pecking some keys again! I REALLY want to get my book done or at least almost done in 2018. I mean, I figure I am about half way through my book since it is a short story and I want to hammer the rest of it out! So this year, one of my resolutions is to finish my story! I want to get it published so bad. I will probably go the self publishing route though once it is completed though. I feel that it is written in a strange way that regular book publishers might not be okay with the way I wrote it. It kind of has a script feel to the writing and not a lot of paragraphs to it, so maybe that is why.

So I am hoping to get that locked down this year! If I ever get my story done, I will be sure to let everybody know on the blog! ๐Ÿ™‚

And besides being even more frugal this year than the last, those are all of my goals I want to conquer in 2018! Man, I hope I can accomplish some of them! I will have my work cut out for me for sure, haha. ๐Ÿ˜€

What are your goals for 2018?

What did I do this New Year’s Weekend and New Year’s Day? (December 30-31, 2017 and January 1, 2018)

Okay guys, my bad. I threw out all of my receipts after logging them this weekend that had all of my spending on them for this weekend. : ( I wasn’t thinking everyone! So no spending updates in this Weekend Update. I will remember not to repeat that mistake next weekend.

Come see what I did this weekend anyway!

On Saturday, I went to my most favorite store in the world: Goodwill! And maaaaan, most recently, Goodwill has been turning into aย Spendypants Goodwill! All of the prices have gone up on a lot of the solid goods. For example, in the past, I saw they wanted $3.19 for a bag of wooden clothes pins when you can buy a bag of new wooden clothes pins for a buck at Dollar Tree. Or on my most recent trip, they wanted $8.19 for a springform cake pan that was in a Food Network box when you can buy a new Wilson springform cake pan at Bed, Bath, and Beyond for 10 bucks. I mean, what the heck? You’re a thrift store Goodwill, not a department store! ๐Ÿ˜ก

Well anyway, I did manage to find some good deals while I was there. I bought this cute Kitty tile hot pad for my new essential oils defuser so it won’t tip over on my dresser! Behold the cuteness!

cat tile

This little guy was only $3.19! I looked up tile hot pads on Amazon to see what they were going for new and they were like 15 bucks brand new! And the fancier hot pads were going for 25-30 bucks EACH! Goodwill had some of those too for around 2 bucks, so those hot pads are a definite steal at Goodwill! I then stumbled upon a new candle in one of the bins while I was looking around. I grabbed it and noticed they had candles the same exact size available at Goodwill for around 5 bucks while mine was around 4 bucks, so I looked up the brand of candle I had found in the bin and found out that the brand of candle I had found was going around 20 bucks on Amazon! So I thought, “Good deal!”

So I left Goodwill spending around $7.00. ๐Ÿ™‚ Not a bad haul. And without doing Saturday’s spending summary, 7 bucks was all I spent last Saturday I remember. Btw, LOCMom loved her new candle! It was sugar cookie scented. ๐Ÿ™‚

On Sunday, it was… DUN DUN DUN DUUUUUN!!!!! New Year’s Eve! LOCMom and I went over to LOCNeighborD’s house and watched the ball drop in New York City! LOCNeighborD had bought pizza as well and I ate about two slices. ๐Ÿ™‚ LOCMom and I also got to see LOCNeighborD’s kitty! She is a fluffy tan cat who loves attention. She was so funny last night because she grabbed my bready pizza end and tried to eat it, haha. ๐Ÿ™‚ She must have liked the smell of it or something. ๐Ÿ˜› After watching the broadcast of the ball drop, LOCMomย and I went home and stayed up until midnight to ring in the New Year! We didn’t do anything but stayย up late, so we went to bed straight afterward. ๐Ÿ™‚

And that was my New Year’s Eve weekend! nothing too exciting, haha. ๐Ÿ˜›

For New Year’s Day, LOCMom and I went to feed the birds in our town! They are all so cute. ๐Ÿ™‚ Folks, these birds love food and we try to give them bird seed instead of junky stuff like bread. Believe it or not, bread is bad for wild birds even though they absolutely go gaga over it. ๐Ÿ˜› After that, we then went home. ๐Ÿ™‚

And that wraps up our New Year’s Day activities! Was a fun weekend. ๐Ÿ™‚

And an update about my health problem… It seems the medicine the hospital gave me has stopped working effectively and I’m at the same place before starting it. I have a doctor’s appointment on Tuesday, so I am hoping that my health problem is gone completely and I am just basically constipated now. I can only hope for good news. : (

I’m hoping all of you, my wonderful readers, had a terrific holiday and New Year and will have a great 2018! ๐Ÿ˜€

How was your weekend?
