What did I do/buy this weekend? (October 15, 2017)

This weekend was wonderful! I was really busy even last week, but everything got done, haha. πŸ˜€

On Saturday, I don’t remember going to any stores because I can’t remember, but LOCMom and I did feed the birds that day! Boy, those birds just can’t get enough food! By the time we left, someone was already handing them out their favorite junk food, bread. Which is not good for birds, btw. But I think that is why the birds love bread. It just tastes good!

Then I think we went home afterward and just relaxed the rest of the day. πŸ™‚ I finished up the frozen enchiladas since I am dieting again. Gonna’ lose that weight! Well, at least try. I don’t think walking to lose weight is enough anymore though. I guess I just don’t walk long enough or something. Or it’s what I am eating. I don’t even know anymore. I’m just focused on not gaining! : (

Money Spent on Saturday

Total Amount Spent: $0.00

On Sunday, this is when I was shopping the most! We went to Costco first and I ate breakfast there, as in, had free samples until I was content. πŸ™‚ Didn’t buy anything because I didn’t need anything at the moment and didn’t want to shell out the money for anything since everything is pricey in bulk.

Then, we went to the Frugalpants Grocery Store! I bought things for my diet including ground turkey. I have never had it before, but it’s a great diet food, I hear! Then after we left the Frugalpants Grocery Store, I fed the pigeons outside the store. They are always hanging around waiting for food, so I always feed them while I am there. πŸ™‚ Someday I will get a picture for you guys so you can see in their natural habitat, haha. πŸ™‚

But the first stores I went to was Dollar Tree and The Cancer Society; aka The Spendypants Thrift Store. Had to get some thread to fix a Goodwill sweater I bought at Goodwill recently! The buttons were kind of shaky, and shaky buttons means they might pop off soon, so I had to re-enforce the buttons with matching thread! Turned out great!

I just had to save this great looking sweater from the dump! I got this sweater at Goodwill this week for, I think, $5.99, and I checked out the brand on the internet and it was from Macy’s! A new piece of clothing from this brand retails for around $40.00, so not a bad deal I got it for, I must say! πŸ˜€

But the main project I was busy with this weekend was organizing my personal documents into individual folders for easy access in the future! It was a lot of work and I had to go to Dollar Tree to buy the tabs to separate everything in them, but it finally got done! Behold!

organized

Yup! All personal files filed away and safe! I do use file boxes for some personal documents, but I don’t use them for bulk things like banks statements. I may in the future, but I find binders are easier for storing that kind of stuff. πŸ™‚ By the way, all of these binders are from Goodwill! Three were 50 cents each on 50% off day and one of them LOCMom bought a long time ago at Goodwill! Hooray for saving items from the dump and recycling things! πŸ˜€

And after all of that organizing, I am currently relaxing! Yes, lazy Sundays are lazy. πŸ™‚

Let’s see what I bought today!

Money Spent on Sunday

The Spendypants Thrift Store:

  • Spool of Thread Baggy – $3.00
  • Halloween Napkins (a donation for where I volunteer at πŸ™‚ ) – $1.00

Dollar Tree:

  • Binder Dividers (I’m exchanging two of them since they weren’t needed.) – $8.00
  • Halloween Greeting Card (Needed one more!) – $0.50
  • Halloween Tape (for decorating on Halloween night πŸ˜€ ) – $1.00

The Frugalpants Grocery Store:

  • Mature Portobello Mushroom – $1.48
  • Romain Lettice – $3.98
  • Guittard Chocolate Chips (on sale today, woot woot! πŸ˜€ ) – $2.48
  • Mini Tomatoes – $1.48
  • Whole Wheat Bread – $3.48
  • Ground Turkey – $3.48
  • Blue Cheese Dressing (for romaine lettuce) –Β $3.48
  • Whole Milk – $3.50
  • Small Melon – $2.98
  • Bird Seed (from bulk bins) – $1.96

Total Amount Spent: $41.80

And wouldnt you know it, the small melon was rotten. : ( Note to self: If it’s not melon season, don’t buy anymore. And yes, most of the good food I had to pay out the nose for. But at least it was all under $5.00? : ( Oh well. That’s what I get for eating healthy and wanting to feel decent after a meal that is not processed garbage.

And that’s my weekend! Just homeΒ relaxingΒ now, haha. No more shopping for me today. Going to take it easy. πŸ™‚

How was your weekend?

  1. The grocery stores around here will generally give you credit or a refund on a product that goes bad too quickly. If you still have your receipt, you might see if your store does this. It never hurts to ask!

  2. Ground turkey makes great meatballs. Maybe you’ll inspire me to get on the weight loss bandwagon, I eat too much junk food too. πŸ˜‰

    1. Ah, it’s hard, isn’t it? I have a bowl of Halloween candy in the house that I am not touching because of my diet. πŸ™‚ It’s for the kids, haha. But I think I already announced that. πŸ™‚ But if you want to diet with me, than I wish you all of the best! We can do it! πŸ˜€
